The afternoon started off with Lynn Cronin doing a stallion presentation with Mountain Pearl RID. They were received enthusiastically by the audience as they showed off both on the flat and over fences.
This display was followed by our first ever Regional show - kudos to ALL competitors and special thank yous to Deb and Kevin Devries for making their fine facility available to us, and for the hospitality of everyone at their barn

Sunday morning was set aside for a low stress learning time with the inspectors. It's hard to believe anything could top Saturday's activities, but Sunday did. With decades of cumulative experience :-) behind them, our inspectors shared with us incredibe knowledge about Irish Draughts and horses in general.
Three horses were presented at a time and spectators broke up into small "judging groups", examining the horses before placing them as they saw fit. We then discussed our placings, followed by the inspectors telling us how THEY had placed the horses and why. This process was repeated serveral times, with a final session reviewing 3 four-month-old foals. Here the inspectors showed us what to look for in a growing foal, commenting on what might or might not change.

All involved agreed that this was the most in depth and informative conformation training ever. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to our over-heated, but ever ready inspectors, judges, and teachers John McCarthy and Michael Kirwan.
